UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Three numbers.
Three different meanings.

Read the chamber pressure, oxygen concentration and flow rate together. None replaces the other two.

ATA

Absolute pressure

The chamber’s specified operating pressure. Check the exact model and pressure version.

%

Oxygen concentration

The oxygen proportion at a stated measurement point. Ask where and under what conditions it was measured.

L/min

Flow rate

The volume delivered per minute under specified conditions. Review the oxygen equipment at operating pressure.

A USEFUL TECHNICAL CONVERSATION

Ask what the
numbers describe.

Does the concentrator rating describe the entire chamber?

No. A concentrator specification is not automatically the oxygen concentration throughout a chamber or at every delivery point. Ask about the delivery interface and sampling conditions.

How should I compare a demonstration reading?

Ask for the model, pressure, flow setting, sampling point, instrument and its calibration scope. A video can show a demonstration without establishing independently verified quantitative performance.

Does higher pressure automatically make a model the right choice?

A pressure number alone does not establish suitability. Compare the equipment and practical requirements; individual health decisions belong with an appropriately qualified clinician.

LET’S MAKE IT PRACTICAL
